Ike  has  been  nominated  and  or  appointed  to  act  as  sole  arbitrator,  co-arbitrator, adjudicator, chairman of tribunal, chairman of appeal panel, single panellist, co-panellist, mediator, conciliator, expert determiner, counsel or expert on Nigerian Oil and Gas Law, in a substantial number of arbitral and other adr proceedings under the Rules of the ICC, LMAA, LCIA, UNCITRAL, HKIAC, WIPO, CPR, DIAC, CIARB, IDRS and AD-HOC etc., in relation to disputes and or disputants from China, Canada, France, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Iraq, Kenya, Mauritius, Nigeria, Switzerland, the U.A.E., the U.K., the U.S.A. and  Zambia.  The  cases  involve  a  large  variety  of  disputes  arising  from  specialisms including international trade, commodities, carriage of goods,  passengers and baggage by sea,   cruise   vessels,   Yacht   Design,   general   commercial,   state   contracts,   financial transactions,  banking,  general  insurance,  investments,  oil  and  gas,  energy,  oil  pipeline maintenance contracts, real estate, mining contracts, share purchase agreements, property, real    estate,    investment,    human    rights,    intellectual    property,    domain    names, telecommunications, marine insurance, maritime, entertainment and sports.

Some Examples of International Arbitral Appointments in the U.K. and U.A.E.:

  • Appointed Sole Arbitrator in August 2010 to determine   breach of contract dispute arising from failure of property developer to develop and deliver two individual office tower units in central business district in the U.A.E to purchaser as provided for in purchase and sale agreements;
  • Appointed Sole Arbitrator in September 2010 to determine breach of contract claim arising from failure of very prominent property developer in U.A.E to develop and deliver residential units in the U.A.E. as agreed and in line with purchase and sale agreements;
  • Appointed Chairman of three member Football Appeal Panel in 2010 to determine appeal against sanctions imposed by Football Disciplinary Commission on English League football club in London for fielding ineligible football players;
  • Appointed Sole Adjudicator in August 2011 to adjudicate on dispute arising from breach of contract claim for damages against well-known UK based home builder quoted on the London Stock Exchange for negligent and fraudulent misrepresentation, diminution in value, loss of amenity and costs filed by U.K. based entity;
  • Appointed Co-Arbitrator by International appointing institution in late 2011 to arbitrate on dispute arising from breach of international trade agreements on the transhipment of container loads of commodities from the South East Asia through intermediaries in the U.A.E and to European seaports;
  • Appointed Co-Arbitrator by international arbitral institution in early 2012 to arbitrate on dispute arising from breach of demurrage provisions in a charter partyagreement for vessels hired for the transhipment of oil cargo from Canadian seaports to Nigerian seaports;
  • Appointed Chairman of Arbitral Panel in January 2015 by international arbitral institution   to resolve investment dispute relating to development projects in African countries involving a number of African based commercial entities.
