The main aim of the campaign is to reduce the harmful effects of arbitration on the environment, as well as to raise awareness of how large amounts of carbon footprint remain in the environment in connection with all activities related with the arbitration proceedings. The campaign promotes practices related to the management of the arbitration proceedings in such a way as to minimize their impact on the environment.
The Campaign’s Guiding Principles are:
• encouraging the exchange of correspondence in arbitration proceedings mainly by electronic means;
• encouraging participants in arbitration proceedings to use videoconferencing facilities as an alternative to travel; as well as
• avoiding printing documents and using - whenever possible - only electronic (not paper) copies of documents
